Etihad Airways has introduced a protective face mask for First and Business class guests as a feature of its new health and hygiene programme, Etihad Wellness.
The United Arab Emirates carrier said that the face coverings have been treated with an antimicrobial treatment called MicrobeBARRIER™ to reduce the presence of germs in fabrics.
The snoods are washable and reusable, making them more environmentally friendly than disposable masks.
Travellers can wear the snood around their neck like a scarf and when close to others, pull it up over their mouth and nose to protect themselves and people around them, said the airline.
The face coverings have been introduced as part of the airline’s new health and hygiene programme, Etihad Wellness.
